Finished!!
We finally finished our trip and walked across the Golden Gate Bridge on August 30th. Our family was waiting to greet us on the other side and congratulate us for acheiving our goal after three and a half months. The reason we are posting so late after crossing is because we stayed in San Francisco for a few days then took a vacation in Hawaii to spend time with our family again. We can’t thank everyone enough for all the support and effort they put in to help us complete our journey. We love and miss all the wonderful people we met along the way that opened their hearts and their homes to our story. We want to wish you all the best and to continue to live an adventurous life while also helping others improve the world around us. Anyone can still donate to our three sponsored charities by following the links. To see tons of pictures from the entire journey (which we highly recommend) please follow the Facebook link in the top right corner of our site.
Sincerely,
Caleb and Tanner
Through Denver and now in Utah.
Hey everyone,
We apologize that there is so much time in between each post. It is difficult for us to update the website while we are traveling on the road. Rarely do we get the opportunity to use a computer and post updates on our website however from our phones we are able to keep people up to date daily on Facebook and Twitter. If you follow the link in the top right corner of the site you can find our pages on the social networks and find out everything from there including many pictures and our locations that we are in at the time.
Since the last post we went through some warm weather and made it into Kansas City. There we celebrated the 4th of July with some family friends then headed across Kansas for even warmer weather. We recently made it up to Denver and stayed to enjoy it for a week before continuing on through the Rocky Mountains. There we experience cold mornings and cool afternoons that we thoroughly enjoyed. Today we crossed the state line over into Utah and are relaxing in the Vernal Library. Our next big city will be Salt Lake City and we should be there in a few days. Our expected date of arrival to San Francisco is September 1st and we are very excited to reach our destination that soon. It has been an amazing journey the last 4 months and we have enjoyed every minute of it. We have especially enjoyed all the wonderful people we have met along the way and all the supporters that have helped us find the strength to press on. We look forward to updating everyone again soon as well as informing many new people about our journey along with the 3 wonderful charities we are trying to support.
Thanks again to all our friends and family,
Caleb and Tanner Childs
Past St. Louis, MO
Hey everyone,
We have officially made past St. Louis, MO on our trip. After going a little over 1,000 miles on our Blue Sky Longboards we are one third of the way done. Currently we are staying in Columbia, MO on the Mizzou campus. It’s a beautiful place but extremely hot. Today is supposed to reach 104 and tomorrow’s high is 110. Hopefully we can continue to get an early start in the morning and avoid the heat. Our next big city is Kansas City where we’ll post many pictures on our Facebook and Twitter pages. We have met so many wonderful and supportive people that have kept us excited about our journey. We’re sure it will only continue in the same fashion. Thank you for all your support so far and hopefully we can continue to keep everyone positive in following our trip. Don’t forget why we are pushing on everyday. We have three charities that we feel needs your support as much as we do. Please take a second to check them out on the charities page above and donate a few dollars if you’re willing. It doesn’t have to be your life savings. Every dollar counts and helps them make the world a better place. Thanks again everyone and we look forward to hearing from y’all soon.
Sincerely,
Caleb and Tanner
